She climbs on top of the sofa and looks out the window with stars in her eyes. The back of her head says, “It’s nice inside… but what if there are more fun things out there? What lies outside this glass barrier?”
I wonder how infinitely differently I see the world compared to the world created by this small child’s imagination. I follow her line of sight out the window and I think back to my younger days when my own daughter was as young as she.

호기심 어린 눈으로 소파에 올라가서 창문밖을 바라본다. 안도 좋은데..밖에 더 재미있는 것들이 있을까? 유리창밖의 세상엔 무엇이 있을까 라고 꼬마의 뒷통수는 말한다. 과연 이 어린 소녀의 상상의 세계와 내가 가진 시야의 차이는 거의 무한대가 아닐까? 아이의 시선을 따라 바라보며 젊은날의 나의 어린딸을 기억한다.
