Artist Statement
My art work has grown and matured with my love for this form of creative expression. I have never received formal training, but since my youth, have always been fascinated with art.
What started as a hobby has evolved into a deeper expression of drawing out my daily life on to the canvas. I started with many landscape pieces that explored my experience of nature.
My passion is shared between drawing and Janggu, a traditional Korean percussion instrument and performance art. The heart behind Janggu is to bring out the joy and exhilaration in both performer and listener. And I try to translate my experiences of sight, sound and the atmosphere into my paintings.
